Carol Oh is a Brisbane artist who, from an early age, is inspired by classical European art, with a particular appreciation for portraiture, a regular feature in her repertoire, ranging from early works in pencil to current portraits in oil.
She draws inspiration from a diverse array of topics, ranging from scenery and classical mythology to simple daily scenes. Her paintings aim to capture the essence of that transient moment, a fleeting facial expression, to materialise onto canvas an impalpable moment in time.
Her precise artistic skill, forged over years of formal and informal training, manifests in the final impact that each artwork delivers.
Her oil paintings will continue to be topically diverse, highly dependent on what strikes a passionate chord within.
She works in oils and receives commissions on portraiture as well as a diverse range of artistic requests. To discuss your interest in commissioning an artwork from her, please use our contact page, or email paintingsbycarolo@gmail.com
She was a FINALIST in the Brisbane Portrait Prize 2020, selected for Salon des Refusés of the Brisbane Portrait Prize in 2022, twice FINALIST in RQAS art awards 2023, and twice FINALIST in the prestigious Doyles Art Award 2023 & 2024, FINALIST in Lethbridge Small Scale Art Award 2024 and FINALIST in Brisbane Rotary Art Show 2024.
